Snow in the last week in Plumas County means the clock is ticking on fall colors. A final burst of color is complementing the season’s first dusting giving visitors something unique to see.

Jake Edwards captured the beauty of Mount Lassen on Nov. 1, noting on his Instagram, “Lassen decided to show off its first good blanket of snow this season, this morning. Got some color, too. Was quite cold, but amazing.”

With Lassen in the background, Lake Almanor is a spot that perfectly captures the seasonal transition happening now. It is an inviting place where locals and visitors alike can experience the beauty of Plumas County’s changing landscapes, which take on another form of beauty as the temperatures drop.

Be sure to bundle up and bring plenty of warm drinks because it’s your last chance to view the colors for 2024 Plumas County Awesome Autumn.
