Super Colors and the Super Peak in Inyo County

Color spotter Betsy Forsyth had a beautiful drive down through the Owens Valley on Nov. 4 with yellow, gold, green, and brown trees scattering the landscape.

“In Bishop, the streets are beautiful!” she exclaimed. “The same with City Park. Yet, it feels like things are winding down. The super peak happened before the weather changed at the end of last week. The golden glow is now a more muted (yet still beautiful) yellow.”

“And such is fall…. “

It is a beautiful time to drive through Inyo County. There are still a fair number of green trees in the Southern Inyo County Region, so there will still be more yellows down there in the coming days or weeks.

City Park and really most streets downtown are gorgeous right now. The whole Owens Valley is in various stages of yellows and browns. It feels like we are enjoying some of the last of fall colors.
