Laura Christman took a walk at Whiskeytown National Recreation Area on Nov. 5, 2024 where the fall colors were popping.

“The bigleaf maples are peaking at Whiskeytown,” she said. “There’s also good color on redbud and black oaks.”

Christmas added that Whiskeytown National Recreation Area was hit hard by the Carr Fire in 2018.

“The pop of bright yellow from the resprouted bigleaf maples is such an encouraging thing to see within the burn scar,” she said.

A great reminder to look for the encouragement all around you this week.
