Lundy Canyon went from a place to watch last week to full peak this week and the photos from the Lundy Lake Resort are stunning.
The big grove of aspens about 2 miles into the Lundy Canyon Trail were at peak on Oct. 5. With some stormy weather expected in the Eastern Sierra this weekend, this is definitely your last chance to catch this spot.
Additionally, lower Lundy Falls is at Peak, and the Lundy Lake Road/Beaver Ponds are a mix of Past Peak, full Peak and Patchy along the road, but mostly Peak.
Please note that trailhead parking is very limited. Arrive early or plan to walk.
Respect the habitat in the area. The beaver ponds are active with beaver families that call them home. Drive very slow and keep your distance to safely admire wildlife from afar. Do not disturb the trees or huts and do not carve or gouge the beautiful aspen trees. It can lead to infection in the trees.
The Lundy Resort Store is open until Oct. 15, 2026. Stop in with any questions or just to say hi.
