Color spotter Shelley Hunter sent in a report from Belden in Plumas County, where fall colors are just starting.
Belden is located in the canyon on Hwy 70, along the Feather River.
“Further up the mountain to Quincy has more,” she said, “but this year the leaves are browning and falling off fast. The big trees at the courthouse in Quincy have just started.”
