Color spotter and photographer Lucas Yan spent last weekend in Hong Kong and Japan and captured the vibrant culture and fall color that he found there.
According to Japan-guide.com, colorful fall leaves are called koyo and they “are to the Japanese autumn what cherry blossoms are to spring. The viewing of autumn leaves has been a popular activity in Japan for centuries and today draws large numbers of travelers to famous koyo spots both in the mountains and in the cities.”
Species include Ginkgo, Chinese Tallow, and maples.
