Color spotter Lucas Yan went to Apple Hill (Rainbow Orchards) and then took Highway 49 up to Nevada City on Sunday and came back with a delicious report.

“The apple trees are still green (0%) but the non-native trees in Rainbow Orchard’s seating area like the maple and tulip trees have turned color,” he said. “The best things to get there are the cider, donuts, and apple pie.”

Yan said that while Nevada City is around 50% with plenty of color, a lot of leaves were being blown off the trees due to the storm yesterday. He recommended going soon.

Apple Hill – Patchy (10-50%)

Nevada City – Near Peak (50-75%) Go Now.
