Color spotters have been enjoying the cottonwoods around Bishop in the past week. This area is at Peak and should be on your GO NOW! location list.

While it feels like the end is coming, town is still spectacular, according to Betsy Forsyth of Visit Bishop. You’ll find a burst of color walking down almost any street.

We even “had a beautiful rainbow on 10/30 and snowy peaks 11/2!” she added.

Bruce Wendler agreed that the Bishop cottonwoods are at their prime.

“Go now, color is changing in Independence along Hwy 395 and just starting in Lone Pine,” Wendler added.

Yi Ding visited Pine Creek Canyon and found the road at Peak, while the Pack Station was “slightly past prime but can’t yet be called past peak.”
