A dusting of snow creating a backdrop for fall color never fails to raise excitement during the autumn season.
This week that dusting occurred in the Eastern Sierra on Monday, Sept. 28 leaving leaf-peepers scrambling for their cameras and wondering which areas would hold on.
Good news – all areas still have plenty of color to see.

Those Mammoth Lakes Basin shots with fresh snow over the yellow aspens are stunning. Good to know the colour held on after the Sept. 28 dusting, that was going to be my first question.
