If you blink you might miss it. Fall colors in Yosemite Valley are at peak, with some areas already past peak so don’t delay if this area is on your 2024 bucket list. More winter weather is expected this week.
Color spotter Steve Arita even surmised that if color spotters weren’t able to make it to this national treasure over the weekend, the colors won’t last much longer.
Arita had to wait a little bit to capture his photos, as it was a bit overcast in the early morning. “But the sun finally came through around 10:30 am or so,” he said. The leaves were mostly maple and black oak.
“The Valley, as usual, was beautiful and I’m glad I was able to catch the colors today before they are all gone for the year,” he concluded.
Yosemite Valley (3,966′) – Peak to Past Peak. You almost missed it.

We were at the park this weekend as well and my goodness fall colors were at peak. Absolutely brilliant. Rt 140 all the way past Mid Pines the colors were on full display as well.
Glad you caught the colors before they are gone!
