Between Nevada City and I -80, there is a glorious park with paved paths called the Sierra Discovery Trail. Color spotter Sylvia Wright visited this location today and found the area at peak.

According to AllTrails.com the Sierra Discovery Trail loop is an interesting and easy interpretive trail, explaining the geology and ecology of the Bear Valley and the Sierra Nevada. The trail starts out as pavement and then crosses a bridge over Bear River.

Make sure to add this to your fall color exploration if you are headed out in the next week.
