Color spotter Peter Robbins set out looking for the comet but found fall color instead this past weekend.

“I WAS able to get away Saturday, went up to our vacation home near Lassen Park and went looking for a dark sky location to hopefully capture the comet before it’s too late,” Robbins reported. “Not much luck with the comet, but I DID notice some nice color.”

Robbins also added a very insightful comment to his report: “We almost always look up to the trees for fall color, but often the brush and shrubbery holds the delight of many of the colors I miss from New England!”

Fall color is all around us, if only for a little while.
