Fall Color Report, Gold Country

American River Leaf (9/19/24) Philip Reedy

Color spotter Philip Reedy headed up Highway 50 along the American River the morning of September 19, 2024, mainly to work on fly fishing photos. He expected the only fall colors he would see along the way would be his shirt since it is still early for changes at these elevations.

“However,” he said, “I did find one leaf that wasn’t willing to wait for fall to officially begin. I would say that the degree of color change at 5,000 ft is about 0.000000000001%, but one leaf is all it takes to make a photo.”

We agree and love the creativity and the taste of what’s to come!
