A Rocky End to Autumn in the Central Valley

Central Valley, Fall Color Report

The sun came out in the Central Valley yesterday just in time for the last few days of autumn.

As fall fades into winter, the sun actually appeared in Davis for a few hours after three weeks of fog, according to Phil Reedy.

Even with the first day of winter settling in tomorrow, Dec. 21, the gingko, tallow and pistache trees refuse to give up the last of their leaves.

“Of course, we are now looking at seven straight days of rain, so that may spell the end of the colors,” Reedy said. “But I took advantage of the short-lived sunshine to take a few more fall color photos.”
