Color spotter Ruby Jay continues to chase colors in Southern California and captured three spots in three days for the following report.

South Coast Botanic Garden in Palos Verdes Estates is patchy, with colors just beginning to show as of Oct. 24, she said.

On Oct. 26 she visited Loyola Marymount University, Westchester campus and captured photos from a rooftop there as well as the courtyard of a building. These areas were Near Peak to Peak.

“The ginkgo trees are just beginning to show some light yellow color,” she said. “However, the Silver Grass on the rooftop of a building at Loyola Marymount University, Westchester campus, is beautifully golden. Here is also a great spot to watch sunset.”

“The multicolor leaves of the trees in the courtyard of a building at Loyola Marymount University, Westchester campus, are fascinating. I stayed here for quite some time.”

Finally, she returned to Central Park in Playa Vista on Oct. 27 where colors are at Peak.

The yellow leaves against the bluish background were colorful in the afternoon sunlight.
