Several color spotters in Plumas County visited the Cascade Trail off Highway 70 near Quincy over the weekend and came back with beautiful images and reports of the area being Near Peak.

“We hiked the Cascade Trail to the falls this morning [10/10/25],” said Michael Beatley. “They can be reached at Barlow Rd and Hwy 70 on the east end or by Keddie on the west end just 4 miles from Quincy. The morning was overcast, turning to a sunny afternoon. The best time for photos is 10 am. The color at the cascades are 60-75%.”

Shelley Hunter visited a few days later on Oct. 12 and stated, “This is about peak time to visit Quincy.”
