Fall has arrived in Plumas County with the start of vivid colors and questionable weather.

Around the Hideaway Motel in Greenville there are still roses blooming but the Linden trees are slowly turning a soft yellow and the mighty oak is making its shift in coral, orange and gold.

Autumn in mountain communities around Plumas County brings a wide array of weather fronts. This week forecasts called for rain that never appeared, and the wind kicked up a little bit but ultimately blue skies prevailed.

If you are heading out early for leaf peeping remember that it can be chilly so don’t forget your layers to keep you comfortable in the changing temperatures throughout the day.

Tip of the week: take a picnic filled with color at Gansner Park in Quincy. It offers a tranquil outdoor space; a peaceful retreat surrounded by nature with hiking opportunities as well.
