The Mammoth Lakes Basin is an easy fall drive right outside the Town of Mammoth Lakes. Currently the area is showing patchy color throughout.
The area around Tamarack Lodge in the Twin Lakes area has some heavy patches of yellow across the bridge and around the lake. Rabbitbrush and bushes are showing significant color change. Lake George has a nice patch of yellow and orange cascading down the mountain face.
Put this location on your list for the upcoming weeks. It’s a beautiful blend of mountains, lakes and fall color.
Mammoth Lakes Basin (8,996′) – Patchy (10-50%)
Town of Mammoth Lakes (7,881’) – Just Starting (0-10%) Still in the early stages, only a few trees are showing color in town.
