
It has been a wild mix of color in some areas of California this year, and in other places such as Etna in the Scott Valley, the cold snap needed to make the colors pop and stick around never materialized.
Ruth Hartman explained, “It got up to 80 after the first frost. Crazy.” She had to pick more than 400 tomatoes prior and sold most of them after the local farmer’s market closed for the season at the end of September.
