As we begin to close out September colors are starting to appear in others areas of California. Color spotter Michael Beatley took another trip to Thompson and Bucks lakes yesterday to find a completely different scene from what he saw last week.
Colors are 60-80%, he said. The mountain ash, quaking aspens, dogwood, bracken ferns, and big leaf maples are showing off.
The weather in this area of Plumas County currently consists of beautiful warm fall afternoons and cool (35 degree) mornings, which makes now a perfect time to visit. Don’t miss the wild turkeys on Bucks Lake Road if you make the trip.
