Mammoth Lakes color spotter Angie Plaisted took a day off to see for herself if the Virginia Lakes (Mono County – US 395) were truly at peak. Not only did she confirm that, “Yes, Virginia is at Peak,” but also sent back images that indicate it may last another week.
Mark Hanning-Lee visited on 10/2 and described Virginia Lakes Road as Just Starting at the bottom, Patchy to Near Peak as you climb, Peaking at the lakes and Past Peak beyond the resort along the dirt road. That’s quite a range.
