Earlier this week color spotter Shishir Iyer did a hike at Henry Coe State Park in the hills east of Morgan Hill.

“The black oaks were turning nicely, with many of the hillsides showing patches of yellow,” Shishir reported. “However, there’s still plenty of green on the trees. With another week of mild and quiet weather on the way, the colors should develop a bit more, and hopefully not too many leaves get knocked down by next weekend when more cold and wind is forecast. The recent rains have also allowed for plenty of new grass growth, which provided a nice contrast to the fall foliage.”
