Loyola Marymount Before the Rain

Color spotter Ruby Jay visited Loyola Marymount University’s Westchester campus last week and found the Ginkgo trees at peak.

“I don‘t know why the Ginkgo trees undergo transitions with green and yellow leaves on the trees, and yet so many fallen leaves on the ground,” she pondered.

On the same visit she returned to the courtyard of a building at the same campus where she had been color spotting a few weeks earlier.

She noted that the trees had become much thinner since her last visit. “But they still look nice against the white building in the background.”

“We are going to get heavy rains in 5 out of the following 8 days,” she added. “Guess all the leaves will be gone after that.”
