Color spotter Jennifer Natale took a Sunday drive up to Glen Ellen and hiked the from Beauty Ranch to the Lake Trail, Vineyard trail and looped back on Quarry Trail.

“The vineyards are near peak while the backcountry trails have some nice big leaf maple fall colors,” she reported. “It’s a mix of some trees completely bare, some patchy and others at peak. The yellow makes a nice contrast with the redwoods on the trail.”

Natale visits this spot annually around the second or third week of November and anticipates that next week will be even better!

She also some pops of color from mushrooms showing up in the woods earlier than usual, which seems to be on track with much of the rest of the season.
