A Mono County Review

Once again we’re playing a little catch up with all of the beautiful images from Mono County in the Eastern Sierra over the past week and a half. While these photos are a little past date, we would be remiss not to share their beauty.

High winds over the weekend in this area did strip a lot of trees but there are still pockets of beauty to be found. We recommend the Walker/Coleville area for color viewing this week. Warm and dry temperatures will make for a pleasant experience no matter what.

Sam Yang was inspired by our post, Snowliage on Steroids earlier this month and decided to take some drone photos of his own at Laurel Creek.

“When I arrived (on Oct. 16), most of the snow had melted, but there was still a lot of snow on the high mountain. Full fall colors have arrived and I believe it will last until end of October.”

He also included a few images from the beautiful Hot Creek Geologic Site nearby.

Jason Lee visited Mono County on Oct. 18-19 and found Conway Summit near peak and Laurel Creek at Peak.

And last but definitely not least, Barbara Richter rode along with her BFF for an appointment in Bridgeport on Oct. 20 and found some beautiful color.

“We went through the Loop, viewed Conway and Lundy,” she said. It was remarkable that the colors were still so vibrant even after the last snowstorm.

“Also, there was hardly anyone on the road leaf peeping,” she added. “Perfect day!”
