Legendary color spotter, and CaliforniaFallColor.com founder, John Poimiroo reported from Martis Valley and Lake Tahoe last week.

Colors in Martis Valley were already peak to past peak as of Oct. 15, but Poimiroo still managed to capture a picturesque scene at the Martis Valley cabin where he found a couple who had set up camp chairs in the Aspen, many of which had dropped their leaves.

Lake Tahoe was Near Peak last week so it should definitely be on your GO NOW! list and is most likely peaking now or soon.

Finally, the Rainbow Lodge on the I-80 was patchy, according to Poimiroo’s report.

Martis Valley , CA 267 – Past Peak. You missed it.

Lake Tahoe – Peak (75-100%) GO NOW!

Rainbow Lodge, I-80 – Patchy (10-50%)
