Bishop Creek Canyon is BEAUTIFUL right now! The change from last week is kind of incredible, according to color spotter Betsy Forsyth. Some areas, such as Surveyors Meadow, are going to be past peak very quickly, while others like the Mist Falls are just barely starting.
Surveyors Meadow is already showing its oranges and yellows while the Mist Falls area is almost completely green.
There is also a lot of rabbitbrush blooming on the way up Highway 168, so bring your allergy medicine!
Please remember that places such as Bishop Creek Canyon can easily become over-loved if we are not careful. The area has limited parking and single-lane highways/roads. Please treat these places as sacred spots for future generations. Recreate responsibly and consider visiting mid-week if you can.
