Weekend rain had photographer Philip Reedy heading for the hills (literally) on Saturday.
He drove along the back roads north of Placerville to see what colors remained.
“The area is definitely at peak and past peak, so this is the time to go,” he reported. “I drove through the hills from Shingle Springs to Coloma and found some very interesting and unusual fall color settings. I’m always looking for something out of the ordinary and was not disappointed today.”
