Wind Wolves Preserve (11/11/24) Gary Skipper II

Color spotter Gary Skipper II went to Wind Wolves Preserve near Maricopa on Veterans Day and found some great colors there.

While the Fremont Cottonwoods aren’t at peak yet, they should be in a week or so. The poison oak, however, was looking lovely, just don’t get too close.

According to Skipper, “the preserve is a grasslands with a riparian woodland in the middle of the canyon. It is a great spot for wildlife. The place to see the best colors right now are near the Willows picnic areas and another spot about halfway from the trailhead to the willows.”
