Color spotter Lucas Yan went to Nevada City on Sunday, Nov. 3 and came away with some gorgeous pictures.
“Conditions are varied,” he said, “with some trees at peak like the maples, some with patchy color like the tulip trees behind the firehouse museum, and others with few leaves remaining like the ivy next to the Chamber of Commerce.”
After a tasty lunch at Heartwood Eatery, a cafe on Commercial St. that serves coffee, bowls, and salads, he also drove down to Apple Hill to pick up some pies and donuts.
“Highway 49 had similar foliage to Nevada City and Grass Valley with non-native trees and aspens having color, but the orchards and vineyards are still relatively green,” he said.
