A Mix of Color in Yosemite

Fall Color Report, High Sierra

November is here and so are the colors in Yosemite.

Color spotter Jennifer Natale was in Yosemite Valley on November 1 and found a mix of patchy, near peak or peak, depending on the location.

She drove in via 140 through Mariposa and found the following:

1.) The colors along the Merced on the drive in are fabulous.

2.) Mirror Lake is near peak with many big leaf maples turning and some red dogwood.

3.) The Valley Loop and Cook Meadow have some pops of color here and there.

In case it’s helpful for anyone making plans this weekend for Yosemite, she thinks things will be closer to peak within the next week.

Yosemite Valley (3,966′) – Patchy to Peak, depending on location (10-75%) Make plans to Go Now.
