Lundy Looks Lovely With Snow

Eastern Sierra, Fall Color Report

It has been a chilly couple of days in the Eastern Sierra, but things are expected to warm back up beginning tomorrow.

The cold, however, didn’t keep color spotters Gavin and Angelica Zaid from enjoying their campsite at Lundy Canyon Campground for a few days even if they did wake up to snow this morning (10/18/24).

“The winds howled last night and we could only see white when looking out our 2020 Scamp 13′ windows,” they reported. “Snow blanketed the ground this morning.” It was 19 degrees at the campground at 7 am.

As for the fall color, “The aspen leaves are a 50 percent mix of yellow and green with plenty of color,” the couple reported.

Images are from October 16, 17, and today (Oct. 18 – snow images) from the campground and around Lundy Lake and the Lundy Canyon trail.
