Color spotter Patrick McGowan spent Thursday and Friday at Lundy Lake, Tioga Pass, Twin Lakes, and the June Lake Loop. He ended up with lots of great images to to show for it.
Here are Patrick’s thoughts on what he saw:
Lundy Lake road at peak.
Virginia Lakes road at peak and there have been winds, which is obvious at the higher elevations.
Tioga Pass, a few spectacular areas but the most color was at the lowest elevation. I would say also at peak.
Sagehen Summit still a lot of color but I have no idea how you get close to it. LOL
June Lake Loop – hitting the road north to south there are some impressive areas but nothing much to speak of in June Lake itself.
Still some great opportunities to view color in the area but they won’t last for long. So don’t wait to make your plans.
