A Strong Case for Surveyors Meadow

Color spotter John Richardson reached out on Friday, Oct. 4 with the following report.

“My sister, Christine, and I returned yesterday from four days in the Eastern Sierra. We stayed in a cabin at Silver Lake Resort. The leaves are just beginning to turn at Silver Lake. We hiked up Little Lakes Valley about 2 miles. Leaves there are at peak now and are just beginning to turn brown.”

“The South Fork of Bishop Creek is absolutely stunning and is at peak,” Richardson added. “Your color map shows the meadow (Surveyors Meadow) as being past peak. Not so!!!”

We thought Richardson’s photos made a great case for the beauty still left to be seen at Surveyors Meadow so we updated the map to “Peak” for this area, but this weekend will most likely be your last shot to see it in its full glory, so get out there if it’s on your list.
