Signs of color are starting to show in Hope Valley along the Carson River near Picketts Junction. Color spotter Kim Kovacs came across this lovely grove of aspens on her drive over the weekend.
Kim said the color along Highway 88 north of Caples Lake into Markleeville was about 50%.
Color in these areas does generally peak in mid-October, so start making plans to check the area out if it’s on your list.
