Time of day can dramatically change the color temperatures of photographs, as illustrated in these pictures captured by Sacramento color spotter Steve Arita at Grand Teton National Park, this past week.

He reports that all of the aspen and willows there are close to Peak and should be perfect in the coming week, should you be heading to Wyoming.

He happened to see a black bear along the trail to Hidden Falls and it was gone “in two seconds flat.” Now it’s good that Steve ran into a black bear, not a grizzly bear, as grizzlies don’t run.

Steve noted that Wyoming State Route 89, which leaves the south end of the national park, was flanked with gloriuos Peak color for much of its 80 miles and is worth including when planning a late September visit to Wyoming.
