West of Bishop, Calif., Bishop Creek Canyon rises above treeline. Autumn color is peaking there now above 9,000′.

Here’s a short video from our friends in Bishop that provides a taste of what they’re now seeing up Bishop Creek Canyon.

  1. Saw your post about Hope Valley, but I called Sorenson’s and they said they have snow and not a lot of color. Any suggestions for next weekend, on the Western slope of the Sierra?

    • It’s still too early for the west slope. Everything’s happening on the east slope (Hope Valley is east slope) right now, between Hope Valley and Bishop Creek, above 8,500′.
