Is this peaking or past peak? We are planning a visit over the weekend – worth it?
In the lower parts of Bishop Creek is still a go and I was just up Baker Creek in Big Pine and its at its peak and may last a couple more days. The weather is perfect right now. Just come up and see, even if its slightly past peak. Also the town of Bishop is near peak so you can take some urban Fall Color shots.
Nice suggestions, Jason. Agreed… though the Bishop Creek Canyon has turned, we’ve seen some amazing shots from the Owens Valley after it has peaked above 7,000′. Also, stops at the late Galen and Barbara Rowell’s Mountain Light studio, Schatt’s Bakkery and Mahogany Meats in Bishop are always a treat.

It’s peaking in Mono County. This is definitely a great time to visit. Report will appear today on Magnificent Mono.
